Figures and Portraits Gallery, offers a selection of figurative art works, including figurative drawings and paintings in charcoal, pencil, oil, pastel and acrylic produced by myself, Jurate Phillips. The style of my figurative art is modern, yet classical/traditional and occasionally contemporary. My figurative artwork is often sensual and sometimes tastefully erotic. Landscapes

In the Landscapes Gallery Artwork my primary pursuit as a painter is to convey the essence of Nature's Beauty and endless variety through the filter of my unique artistic expression. Painting in nature, "en plein air" is for me, the greatest challenge. To meet this challenge, I paint and draw from life as often as possible. I've learned to hone my skills of observation and distill the complexities of a scene to its essentials. Bringing what I've learned back into the studio, I can then expand on my ideas with varied explorations in color, composition, and format.
